Scheduling

Recurrence and exceptions

The dates of a recurring event are never expanded into the database in advance. That is why editing the rule changes the whole series at once, while a manually moved occurrence stays where it was put.

What is inside

  • Recurrence rules in RFC 5545 format, as in mail clients
  • Edit this occurrence only, through a series exception
  • Edit this and all following: the series is cut and the tail lives by its own rule
  • Editing the whole series changes the rule itself
  • Cancel a single occurrence without deleting the series
  • Non-working day policy: keep, skip or move to the next working day

Frequently asked questions

What happens when a recurring meeting falls on a holiday?

The non-working day rule of the event decides: hold it as usual, skip it or move it to the next working day. A skipped occurrence stays visible in the grid but takes no time.

Can I change one meeting of a series?

Yes. When editing you choose the scope: this occurrence only, this and following ones, or the whole series.
